Somerset Medical Center’s Sleep For Life Program To Host Free April Lecture Series

March 24, 2008

WHAT:  Somerset Medical Center’s Sleep for Life will host three free lectures in April. The lectures, by Dr. Carol Ash, medical director of Sleep for Life and a board-certified sleep medicine physician, will explore two topics: the relationship between sleep and weight control, and the connection between sleep disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) diagnoses in children. Light refreshments will be served.

  • “Sleep and ADHD in Children” (dinner program) - Wednesday, April 2, 6 to 8 p.m.
  • “Sleep and Weight Control” (dinner program) -  Wednesday, April 16, 6 to 8 p.m.
  • “Sleep and ADHD in Children” (breakfast program) - Friday, April 25, 9:30 to 11 a.m.

WHERE: Sleep for Life is located at 331 Route 206 North in Hillsborough.
This lecture series is open to the public, but pre-registration is required. Please call 1-888-SFL-REST to reserve a spot.

WHO: These programs are intended for adults. Any people bringing children will remain responsible for their children at all times.

WHY: Sleep disorders are commonly confused with other medical conditions, such as ADHD; in addition, sleep disorders can aggravate ongoing health issues such as weight control, preventing people from achieving optimum wellness.
